Al Rawiya

The Many Dimensions of Ahmed Amer

I first met Ahmed Amer outside of any fashion context, before I even realized that he was the designer whose work I already knew. Getting to know him since has meant getting to know someone who can be quiet and observant, but also incredibly playful, curious, and full of energy.

In this episode, Ahmed and I talk about the different sides of his creative practice, from fashion and textiles to drawing and other forms of making, and about the feelings, experiences, and references that find their way into his work. We also move beyond the work itself, talking about personality, process, freedom, and the person behind Ahmed Amer.
